We have taken a very proactive position on climate change because we view it as a very serious threat to the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area and Marine Park in which we operate.
The Climate Action Certification Program is a product of Sustainable Tourism Australia and is dedicated to ranking efforts to reduce carbon emissions. It is designed for all sectors of the tourism industry, regardless of size and level of carbon reduction already undertaken. It includes hotels, attractions, tours, transport, restaurants, travel agents, tourism commissions and industry bodies.
Holiday-makers and travellers will easily be able to judge the efforts being made by tourism operators to reduce the carbon footprint of their operation with this new certification system.
Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises participated in the pilot program for Climate Action Certification and was very proud to become a ‘Climate Action Business’ tourism operator within the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area and Marine Park.
We recognize environmental management as one of our highest corporate responsibilities and are committed to being environmentally responsible, promoting environmental best practices and maximising sustainability.
